The 4th family we visited was Jingep Ak Rigum, 66 years old at Kampung Stabut. I never knew the existence of such Kampung name or even the road name until I got around there. This lady, she had stroke 3 years ago and not able to walk now. Both son and daughter-in-law unemployed. The son fishes in the river behind the house.
Last year, a 20″ wheelchair was donated but it was not usable as it was too big for her. The house isn’t in a good condition for wheelchair as well or living. There are no main water source flow to the house and no electricity. We were told not to go up into the house simultaneously, as the floor was breaking up. I stayed outside to be on the safe side. Don’t want to be blamed if the house came crashing down. Maybe after I lose some weight first.
Finally a good break for the members under the rambutan tree and a treat from the fellow villagers. Everyone was happy with the free rambutan and langsat.
