Had a good Sunday roadtrip with my dad. Initially wanted to hunt for Durians along 10-15th miles but we ended up going all the way up to Serian. Beautiful weather and no cars. Never had my camera with me everytime we go Serian town. This time I manage to take some shots of some of the landmark and livelihood there.

The market there reminds me of old Gambier street market where it was once a lively place until the government torn it down to make way for development.  Anyway, Serian is a great stop for fruits, food, vegetables, meat and market stuff. You can find handcrafts there too. Its about 1 hour drive from Kuching. You can also find other tourist attraction near by such as Ranchan pool.

This is the popular landmark of Serian. you will see it at the roundabout before entering the town. It says “Welcome To Serian Town”.

Along the way, you might come across some animal figures like this.

Illegal? I don’t know. but they’re selling it openly in the market. I think those are pythons. I ask the young seller. He said he caught it by the river.
